Superset
Rating
A superset is two exercises performed back to back without rest between them, usually targeting different (often opposite) muscle groups, with rest only after both parts.
In detail
Supersets save workout time and can enhance metabolic stress (which is useful for hypertrophy), but in terms of pure strength progression they usually fall short of classic sets with full rest — fatigue from the first exercise reduces the quality of the second.
How to use it
For runners with limited time for strength training, supersets are a good way to fit a full workout into 30-40 minutes, but they shouldn't be used for the most technically demanding basic exercises.
