The wall-bounce rule
Rating
A key padel rule: the ball can be returned after it has bounced once on the court and then off the back or side wall (in either order) — this is part of the game, not a mistake.
In detail
The ball must not touch the wall before bouncing on the court — otherwise the point is lost immediately. Playing off the wall significantly extends rallies compared to tennis and creates unique tactics: experienced players deliberately direct the ball so that after bouncing off the wall it becomes awkward for the opponent to return.
How to use it
Don't be afraid of a ball flying toward the wall behind you — this is a normal part of a padel rally; practicing back-wall rebounds is one of the first skills a beginner should master.
